A fast-food restaurant chain with Vietnamese-American origins, headquartered in San Jose, California, approached us to create a WordPress website with ADA compliance. This website’s primary functions will include gathering information from prospective franchisees, serving as a recruitment center for job seekers, and providing customers with a store locator.
THE ASK
An easily navigable website, designed to highlight Lee’s Sandwiches’ brand and corporate identity. To provide detailed information about franchise opportunities, offer career opportunities for potential job seekers, present a comprehensive list of all store locations, display an online menu featuring a diverse selection of items, including coffee and sandwiches, and prioritize the implementation of web accessibility compliance.
THE SOLUTION
We proposed a website solution that involves utilizing the WordPress content management system for website design and development. WordPress, being an open-source platform, offers administrators and authors the convenience of easy maintenance. We meticulously designed the site to adhere to ADA (AA Level) compliance, aligning with international legal and standards requirements, including ADA and WCAG 2.1. Additionally, we integrated a dynamic Store Locator feature, enabling the listing of numerous locations with an interactive map, providing a comprehensive and feature-rich solution for customers to easily locate their stores.
The Dynamic Store Locator functionality empowers the inclusion of multiple store locations on an interactive map, delivering a comprehensive and feature-packed tool that allows customers to effortlessly pinpoint nearby stores based on zip codes, cities, or states.
A user-friendly, real-time online menu designed to enable administrators to make updates effortlessly on the website. This menu prominently displays nutritional information for the items offered.
Manual testing was conducted along with design and development implementation on the website to ensure that it successfully achieved AA-level ADA compliance.
Simplified job posting capabilities that allow potential employees to easily search for and submit job applications.
THE RESULTS
Lee’s Sandwiches website has successfully met AA-level ADA compliance standards. It provides convenient features for posting job openings, locating stores based on zip codes, cities, or states, and presenting a menu with nutritional information. Additionally, it includes franchise information with self-qualification questions and FAQs.
