Finalizing our SEO conference recap, I’m joined once again by my business partner and co-founder Victor Huynh.
From our early days of garage startup to becoming a leading website design company in Los Angeles, Victor has been instrumental in helping businesses grow through branding, digital strategy, custom WordPress websites, and custom Shopify websites.

Emily Au – 01:04
His expertise has guided our clients through the ever-changing digital landscape, delivering real results.
Let’s dive in, Victor.
Welcome back to the show.

Victor Huynh – 01:15
Thank you.
Hey everybody, welcome back.
Last day.
It was quite, it feels like a long week just because of the time zone difference and, you know, being away from home for so long.
Yeah, so let’s get into it.
Yeah.
Emily, do you have anything you want to kind of share?

Emily Au – 01:42
I’m a little tired, day The day and night has been swapped but still woke up pretty early to join in on the team’s debrief in the morning and then check some emails and there’s been a lot of, still a lot of good sessions today.
Actually was pretty jammed today with really good speakers.
But yeah, We learned a lot, but Victor, based off of this entire week, what was the biggest takeaway for you?

Victor Huynh – 02:20
Biggest takeaway?
So there’s quite a few big pieces, right?
The elephant in the room obviously is AI.
And there were multiple sessions about AI.
Big takeaway is That everyone’s using it and some people are using it like a silver bullet, right?
Like we can solve all your problems with AI while others are warning of the dangers of AI, right?
Being careful of the silent battle of, you know, the different Both sides of the developers on AI to try to trick search engines.

Victor Huynh – 03:16
AI is not a bad thing, just use with caution, basically, that’s my biggest takeaway.
But if you don’t use it, you’ll get left behind.
So it’s a necessary evil, whether you like it or not.
Just like, it’s a big revolution, right?
Just like when we discovered fire as humans, electricity, steam engine, right?
The telegram, the telephone, you know, the dial-up internet, you know, How do you see AI impacting B2B businesses, whether it be within SEO or content marketing?
So given that this is an SEO conference, definitely

Victor Huynh – 04:15
My takeaway is that AI is a necessity, like what I mentioned, but you just have to be smart about how you’re using it.
It’s very powerful so we definitely do have to jump into it a lot more because it’s going to be in our lives no matter what.
So that’s the biggest thing.
The only thing is just don’t be lazy about how you’re using it.
You can’t just stick something into chatgpt and then copy and paste and put it on your website and call it a day because even without AI that’s a bad idea.
Should businesses be leveraging AI-powered content creation and automation for their lead gen?
For sure, and for the most part, having a human chaperone, if you will, overseeing it, is probably the best thing you can do.

Victor Huynh – 05:32
In previous episodes, we talked about AI agents training bots to make sure that the content is more relevant.
And in terms of B2B, honestly, you can use it for stuff A list of keywords relevant to topics that may occur during the meeting.
A list of keywords relevant to topics that may occur during the meeting.
A list of keywords relevant to topics that may occur during the meeting.
A list of keywords relevant to topics that may occur during the meeting.
Government and some of these big companies are trying to be as responsible as they possibly can be with AI.
So yeah, we definitely have to use it, we just got to be smart about it.

Victor Huynh – 06:28
So that’s the AI, right?
I guess the other pieces that are kind of AI, but not directly, Like in lead gen specifically, there are some really cool tools that have AI built in that we kind of experienced here at this event where, you know, the software developer is telling us like it’s basically a CRM, you know, customer
relationship management software where Basically, everything’s connected.
Your ads are connected, your websites connected, SEO, your phone numbers are connected, your emails are connected.
And he said they even have an AI agent chatbot that will basically detect if someone dials your phone and after three or four rings you can set it, right?
And someone at the company doesn’t pick up, it will automatically have a robot pick up, like an AI agent pick up.
And start talking and at least at a minimum level service the customer so that they don’t get just left hanging, right?

Victor Huynh – 07:42
And so there’s a lot of cool stuff happening with AI and how to nurture that because, you know, like especially in Legion and bigger ticket Legion like manufacturing or even some very, we have some clients with some very high ticket products, right?
So you don’t want to put in all that work and just lose it because someone didn’t pick up the call and the buyer just doesn’t have time to call again and figure out when you’re free, right?
So there are things like that are kind of low hanging fruit that are, you know, that we’re leaving a lot of money on the table by not implementing a lot of these more standard processes and technology that are starting to become common in lead gen. Yeah.
Yeah, so AI, Legion, we talked about a lot of the other pieces in previous episodes as well, you know, like in terms of how to plan.
Another piece that resonated with me and I think will apply to a lot of our clients are personal brand.
How to leverage personal brand because again we’ve mentioned in previous episodes people want to do business with people no matter how complicated or how expensive your product is.
There’s a trust factor as long as you have a competitor in the market.

Victor Huynh – 09:17
Trust is an issue.
Unless you’re saying, hey, I’m the only person that makes this product and everyone needs it, then okay, you don’t really need to think about it, or you still do, but you know, most likely if you’re in business, you have a competitor.
And what is that edge going to be?
It’s going to be the trust factor, right?
We had a speaker this morning that was talking about How he built up his empire just using social media and building trust by giving away free advice.
At the end of the day, it’s really establishing your leadership as someone that’s helpful, that’s someone that’s helping, and he built a whole process around that.
So, and how do we add faces?

Victor Huynh – 10:07
Because that’s what the user behavior has changed in today, 2025, right?
A couple of years ago, you could probably get away with it, like having a brand with no face to it.
And everything is just about the product or service and the brand.
Everyone wants to kind of hide behind the brand.
Those that adopted early are doing really well right now, right?
In 2025 and beyond, I feel like it’s going to become the standard.
It’s no longer a nice-to-have or unfair advantage.

Victor Huynh – 10:41
It’s like you have to do it if you want to even be in business.
And those that are not are going to now not just be at the starting line, they’re going to start falling behind.
Because the user behaviors are changing.
The world’s getting smaller, right?
We are here halfway across the globe and everyone is communicating.
The world is getting smaller and if you can’t establish trust, it’s going to be painful moving forward.
I think those are most of my My learnings from this event is the AI stuff, you know, there’s some smaller stuff in between, like, you know, the importance of backlinks, there are so many backlink companies here, right?

Victor Huynh – 11:33
So it’s still relevant, right?
There are some quote-unquote black hat, you know, we tend to warn clients to stay away from the traditional black hats, but I would say there’s a lot of gray hat stuff.

Emily Au – 11:45
Right, there’s some gray areas, for sure, yeah.

Victor Huynh – 11:48
Yeah, so digital PR was one that’s gotten really popular and how to use AI to do digital PR and then the other one is Parasite.
Leveraging third-party platforms like Reddit, right, and then going in there and creating content and trying to win keywords by doing some A list of keywords relevant to topics that may occur during the meeting.

Emily Au – 12:35
I have a question for you, but after this conference, let’s just say Monday morning, we’re going to be back in LA, right?
Is there anything actionable that you want to take immediately?

Victor Huynh – 12:47
For me, the piece I was talking about, like thought leadership, I think I would like to start a personal YouTube channel.
Never had a personal YouTube channel.
I have a personal social media, I have LinkedIn, I have, you know, Facebook, and I even have a TikTok, you know.
But I don’t have, I’ve never had a YouTube.
So I think that’s one big actionable that I’m gonna take home and start running with.
And I think we’re going to start looking into the CRM things that we’re talking about.
Again, you know, we have some clients that are on it, some clients that are not on it.

Victor Huynh – 13:41
It’s been kind of an optional kind of a thing, a nice to have, but I also feel there are certain things that are, we’re moving in a direction where, again, we need to have those, right?
So those are things that we’re going to have to drill down a little bit more on when we get back.

Emily Au – 13:57
Right, the CRM will help kind of tie all the efforts in place, you know, all in one back end.
I think most of the speakers shared a lot of like cool tools with us.
So, you know, I definitely bookmarked all of them that I’m interested in.
But I am most interested in, I think the first thing I’m going to get back to do is I’m going to try to train my own agent.
There are some tools, I have never done it yet, but I do want to do some testing and figure out the training part and then setting up an agent.
And then from there, I also want to figure out how does that apply to our clients as a B2B business.
And how does that help their processes or their day-to-day and how can we integrate it so that it can, whether it be assisting with their, is it their sales funnel or is it after their sales funnel or is it after purchase customer support.

Emily Au – 15:02
So, you know, how do we inject that to kind of have less human touch points but yet still preserve that high quality of customer service to their customers?
So, I want to be able to figure out that piece when, you know, when we get back.

Victor Huynh – 15:18
Yeah, there’s a ton of notes and pictures of slides and everything and there are definitely a lot of pieces of really valuable information.
Right.
And it’s, it’s just a matter of taking it back and reviewing it and, and extracting it.
Because I think the thing with the danger of conferences, you can be all hyped up, but then overloaded with information.
You get back and then you get slammed with a ton of emails, get sucked into meetings, and then you’re like a couple of weeks in and still haven’t made any progress yet.
So, I mean, I’m pretty sure people have experienced that.

Emily Au – 15:57
Right, I did write on my notes to use AI agent to write a book.
It was one of the speakers, you know, that had showed us his whole process on training his agent as well as his process on coming up with the book and publishing it and proofread and all of that.
I thought that was really interesting.

Victor Huynh – 16:24
Yeah, someone had Giving me that suggestion to do a YouTube video documenting my journey of creating an AI agent, which would be fun, but can go south really fast if I make a fool, an idiot out of myself.
But then that’s the thing, right?
With this content stuff, you have to have thick skin.
And if you don’t, then you’re gonna start falling behind.

Emily Au – 17:00
Right, and I think a couple of episodes ago I interviewed Mary Joy, one of my guests, she’s got hustle, and I think she mentioned something where I resonated with a lot.
She said, you just gotta be authentic.
Yeah, so I think that’s really all that matters at the end of the day.
Yeah, I mean, we’ll see.
We’ll see if that’s something that’s on my to-do list, but for sure, you know, training an agent is something that I definitely want to test out and figure out how it all works.
Okay.
Anything else you want to share, Victor, with listeners about this SEO conference?

Victor Huynh – 17:46
I think that was the recap.
I guess aside from the Aside from the actual speakers, the other piece that I really enjoyed was getting the perspective of people around the world, on this side of the world, actually not just around the world, but this side of the world, meaning a lot of Australia, a lot of Europe, a lot of Asia,
South Asia, like India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Yeah, Japan, Korea, I mean, it’s kind of being very realistic.
Americans are pretty isolated, right?
In terms of the marketing industry, if you will, right?
So it was kind of nice seeing how the rest of the world deals with marketing and their There are so many things that I didn’t know about.
A lot of these countries and started was cool.

Victor Huynh – 19:15
And you?

Emily Au – 19:16
Yeah, people.
I think it went around even when we were meeting other talent out there.
The first thing they said is, you know, being able to connect with people was the biggest thing of this show.
There were a lot of great speakers, a lot of great topic, but I think it’s having the opportunity to have face-to-face interaction Real, genuine conversation with everyone, real time was the key takeaway that I experienced during this week.
I spoke with a lot of people.
Yeah, connected with a lot on LinkedIn as well.
I haven’t had a chance to look all of them up individually yet, but I’m sure when I get back, I’ll be able to follow them and try to understand their journey, their customer base, and what is it that they’re doing for their clients.

Emily Au – 20:17
Yeah, because just earlier we had dinner with two ladies, one from Malaysia and one from a Japanese from Australia.
They’re both in separate industries.
They’re in totally different industries, one in iGaming and the other one in pharmaceutical.
And learning about their story and then their role within marketing was very interesting to hear.

Victor Huynh – 20:46
Where they’re from, I think there was a big variety of generations, like age generations, right?

Speaker_01 – 20:55
Yeah.

Victor Huynh – 20:57
Like when we were talking about when we started our agency, like, oh, one of them was one years old.

Emily Au – 21:04
It was one when you and I started our agency, right?
Right.

Victor Huynh – 21:12
But yeah, it was interesting the perspective of and what’s important.
We got to experience that.
I think that’s what contributes to marketing too.
There’s a lot of psychology involved in marketing.
So the more you can expose yourself to different perspectives, I think the more angles you can think about when you’re coming up with solutions.
So yeah, the people aspect was definitely one of the highlights of this event.

Emily Au – 21:53
Yep, 100% agree with that.
Any last thoughts before we conclude, Victor?

Victor Huynh – 22:00
Any last thoughts?
I think connecting with people, especially, you know, post-COVID is really important.
So we’ll definitely be looking for more opportunities to kind of get out there, put ourselves out there.
And create more content as well.
So I hope that whoever’s listening to this also gets that message and kind of puts themselves out there, right?
It can get tough in terms of the time commitment.
It can get financially expensive depending on the situation you’re in, right?

Victor Huynh – 22:39
But, you know, life is really short.
I would encourage everyone to get out there and get involved and see the world in any opportunity that they can.

Emily Au – 22:54
Yeah.
All right.
Well, thank you.
That concludes today’s episode.
